Xiaomi Beat Apple as Top Smartphone Vendor in Q2 2015

In Q2 2015, Xiaomi was the top smartphone vendor in China by shipments volume of 15.9%, followed by Huawei (15.7%). Apple ranked third, followed by Samsung and Vivo  TAOBAO AGENT .

Xiaomi and Huawei are now well-known mobile phone brands in China, although Huawei has a history of over 10 years and Xiaomi has been on the market only for 5 years. Xiaomi was once regarded as Apple of China, while in Q2 2015 it has surpassed Apple as the largest smartphone manufacturer in China’s market.

China was the world’s largest smartphone market. In the previous fiscal season as of June 27th, the sales volume of iPhone in Greater China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan) increased by 85% year on year, and doubled to US$13 billion in revenue.

During H1 2015, the shipments of Huawei smartphones reached 48.2 million units, a YoY increase of 39%. The vice president of Huawei, Mr. Hu, said last month that Huawei had an obvious advantage on the sales growth, which was different from other companies, especially Xiaomi. Huawei would actively invest in 5G technology to achieve further development  Taobao Intermediate .
